SLEEVE BRICK HAVING TWO-LAYERED STRUCTURE FOR TAP HOLE OF CONVERTER

PURPOSE:To produce a two-layered sleeve brick for the tap hole of a converter having superior erosion resistance and a long service life by combining an MgO-C brick forming an inner layer with a magnesia brick forming an outer layer and by specifying the thickness of the MgO-C brick. CONSTITUTION:An MgO-C brick 2 having superior erosion resistance and forming an inner layer which is brought into contact with a flow of molten steel is combined with a magnesia or magnesia-dolomite brick 1 forming an outer layer to obtain a two-layered sleeve brick for the tap hole of a converter. Stoppers 3 may be attached to the sleeve brick as required. The sleeve brick has superior erosion resistance and a long service life.
