NEW MATERIAL:Diarylmethane compds. of formula I, wherein R<1> and R<2> are each an alkyl; X is H or an alkyl, e.g., compds. of formulas II and III. USE:Precursors for dyes for fibers, thermosensitive dyes, pressure-sensitive dyes or radical photographic dyes. PREPARATION:1mol of 3-formylthiochromone of formula IV is reacted with at least 2mol of an N,N'-dialkylaniline derivative of formula V in an acid solvent such as sulfuric acid, etc. to obtain a diarylmethane compd. of formula I. |
