PURPOSE:To easily select a program by displaying a menu of automatic exposure programs capable of utilizing features in accordance with the luminance of a subject. CONSTITUTION:The titled camera is provided with plural and selectable automatic exposure programs, a discriminating means for discriminating whether the luminance of the subject is included within a luminance range in which the features of the automatic exposure programs can be utilized or not and a display means for displaying all the automatic exposure programs discriminated by the discriminating means such that the luminance of the subject is included in the luminance range capable of utilizing the features of the programs. Since the display means for displaying all the automatic exposure programs discriminated such that the luminance of the subject is included within the luminance range capable of utilizing the features of the programs is formed, an effective program selected in accordance with the luminance of the subject at that time can be previously informed to the user of the camera. Consequently, the user can select the effective program in accordance with the luminance of the subject at that time more quickly than an ordinary method.
