PURPOSE:To raise the economical advantage and exactness of construction work by a method in which sand is charged into a steel plate shell driven into the ground, many piles are driven into the shell, and footing concrete is placed onto the upper part. CONSTITUTION:A large-diameter steel plate cylindrical shell 1 is driven into a given position of the ground 5 under water, and soil and sand 2 are charged into the shell 1 to reinforce it in such a way as to enable it to withstand external forces of waves, etc. Many piles 3 are driven from the soil 2 into the bearing ground in a manner as to enable it to withstand the vertical force of superstructure and the horizontal force of earthquake, etc. Footing concrete is placed on the soil 2 for connecting the head of the piles 3 in order to form a foundation. The foundation can thus be constructed on site in a short construction period without affected by tidal waves or without the needs for large-scale temporary equipments.
