PURPOSE:To easily detect the change in an output characteristic by integrally forming a 1st and 2nd sensors by which the outputs proportional to the oxygen concn. in a gas to be measured are obtd. CONSTITUTION:The 1st sensor consists of a base body which forms the 1st and 2nd gas stagnating chambers 2, 3 in a manner as to communicate the stagnating chamber 2 with the gas to be measured and to communicate the stagnating chamber 3 with the stagnating chamber 2 and two pairs of the 1st electrode pairs 11a, 11b and 12a, 12b provided on the inside and outside wall surfaces in the electrolyte wall part of the stagnating chamber 2. The 2nd sensor consists of the base body and two pairs of the 2nd electrode pairs 13a, 13b and 14a, 14b provided on the inside and outside wall surfaces in the electrolyte wall part of the stagnating chamber 3. The 1st sensor yields the output proportional to the oxygen concn. in the gas to be measured and the 2nd sensor is integrally formed with the 1st sensor and yields the output which is proportional to the oxygen concn. in the gas to be measured and has the characteristic different from the characteristic of the 1st sensor. The abnormality of the 1st or 2nd sensor is easily detected by comparing the detected value of the oxygen concn. of the 1st sensor and the detected value of the oxygen concn. of the 2nd sensor. |
