<p>PURPOSE:To provide the titled pigment for printing ink, which gives very clear prints, does not cause bronzing and has excellent dispersibility, by treating a pigment with a specified N-(3-alkoxy-2-hydroxypropyl)trialkyl ammonium salt. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. red lake pigment such as a naphthol azo lake pigment having a naphthol skeleton, e.g., beta-naphthol, beta-hydroxynaphthoic acid (anilide), etc., is dispersed in water to obtain a suspension. 0.1-30pts.wt. N-(3-alkoxy-2- hydroxypropyl)trialkylammonium salt of the formula (wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each a 1-20C alkyl; and X is halogen or sulfonic, acetic or formic acid group) is added to the suspension and the mixture is stirred at 0-100 deg.C to obtain the titled pigment.</p> |
