PURPOSE:To reduce the number of times of response between a channel CH and an input/output device by providing the function, which executes a part of the response sequence of input/output interface between channels (CHs) and between input/output devices, in adapters in the channel side and the input/ output device side. CONSTITUTION:The CH turns on a signal HLD out (HO) and a signal SEL Out (SO) and puts an input device address on a bus Bus Out (BO) and turns on a signal ADR Out (AO). Then, a CH-side adapter 4 sends states of signals and the input/output device address to an input/output device-side adapter 6 through a relay interface 5. The adapter 6 turns on signals HO and SO and puts the input device address on the bus BO and turns on the signal AO. The input device takes in the input device address and turns on a signal OPL In. The adapter 6 reports this state to the adapter 4 and turns off the signal AO. An interface between input/output devices puts the input/output device address on a bus Bus In and turns on a signal ADR In, and the adapter 4 collates the address. |
