This invention relates to a preheating furance for cement raw materials. The preheating furance is sepd. into upper and lower chambers, the upper chamber having a dia. smaller than the lower chamber. A kiln exhaust gas inlet port is located at the bottom of the lower chamber. For this preheating furance, chamber maintains the cement raw material at specific density and allows sufficient holding time, improving the pre-sintering efficiency.
