PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a magnetic head block, by supporting a placing table turnable freely on a carriage main body in the azimuth direction of a magnetic head, and pressing the placing table at an adjusting shaft energized in one direction with a spring and whose moving quantity is set as adjustable. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is a recording and reproducing device in which a magnetic head block 37 supporting a magnetic head 16 which brings into contact with a revolving magnetic sheet 12 and performs a recording and a reproduction, at a prescribed position, is loaded loadably and unloadably freely at the prescribed position on a placing plane 20 provided at the head carriage 21 of a device main body. A placing table 25 formed on the placing plane 20 is supported at the carriage main body turnably freely in the azimuth direction of the magnetic head 16 loaded at the placing table and also, the placing table 25 is energized with a spring 35 in one direction, and is pressed with an adjusting shaft 37 whose moving quantity is set as adjustable.
