The clamping ring with rapid closing device has a point of discontinuity and a frustoconical surface for a support on the rim of the lid. Its outer edge forms a folded-down border which is practically cylindrical or conical and provided for surrounding the opening of the container, the said rapid closing device being disposed on the truncated-cone surface of the clamping ring of which it forms, in the closed position, a radially non-protruding part. The ends 25, 26 of the clamping ring are superimposed in the peripheral direction in the region of discontinuity and the rapid closing device is formed by a single-arm lever 27 connected by an articulation 28, 29 with each of the superimposed ends of the clamping ring.
