PURPOSE:To enlarge the area of the opening part of a car body and increase both a car room and a living space, by a method wherein deterioration surface rigidity of the lower part at the rear of a fender is reduced to the minimum, and the set position of a front pillar is forwardly movable. CONSTITUTION:A sill outer 2b of a side sill 2 is positioned outside a pillar outer 1a of a front pillar 1, the forward end of the sill outer 2b extends on extension of an arch part 3a of the lower part of the rear of a front fender 3, and the forward end thereof is bent to form a flange 2c. The lower end of the lower part at the rear of the front fender 3 matches with an upper ledge part 2d of the sill outer 2b, brackets 3b and 3c are formed in a protruding manner on the front and the rear end of the lower end, and are secured to the pillar outer 1a and the sill outer 2b, respectively. The length of the lower part at the rear of the front fender 3 is shortened so as to match the upper ledge part 2d of the sill outer 2b, and the span between a lower screw fastening part and the screw fastening part of a hood ledge is shortened. |
