<p>PURPOSE:To improve the antishock property of the cell and make it easy to maintain the group pressure of the cell, by forming a protective layer of metal, ceramics, or synthetic resin over the surface of the film or sheet to cover a cell by a hot melting process or the like. CONSTITUTION:After covering an electrode group composed of positive plates and negative plates by a cover 3 consisting of a thermal-plastic synthetic resin film or sheet, which has a safety valve 2, an electrolyte is poured to make a cell. Then, after the cell is soaked in a synthetic resin of which the temperature is set at 180 deg.C and it is mainly of amorphous polypropylene, remaining the safety valve portion unsoaked, the cell is picked up from the synthetic resin and cooled, to form a protective layer 4 over the cover 3 of the cell. Therefore, since the cover gets a sufficient rigidity, and moreover, since the protective layer 4 fastens the cell, the group pressure of the cell can be easily made above a specific value.</p> |
