PURPOSE:To improve a yield of a fine particle toner having practically suitable particle diameter by effecting suspension polymerization by adding a specific compd. as a particle size controller. CONSTITUTION:Styrene, monomer, etc., which is a binding substance, a dyestuff or a pigment such as C.I. pigment yellow 5, etc., which is a coloring matter, and a compd. shown by the formula which is the particle size controller are uniformly suspended in the water added an insoluble inorg. salt, for example, CaCO3, then, polymerized said monomer to fine particles. Further, after decomposing the prescribed inorg. salt, the obtd. fine particles having 5-20mum particle size are filtered, water washed, and dried to obtain the toner. In the formula, R1-R4 are each H or 1-8C an alkyl group, etc., X is -S- or -SO2-, etc. According to the titled method, the practically suitable toner having 5-20mum particle size is produced with a high yield. |
