PURPOSE:To form guide grooves of an adapter with a high precision by dividing a substrate having V-shaped grooves into plural parts and transposing and rearranging divided parts and combining respective grooves on divided substrate parts to constitute guide grooves for optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 11 wherein a V groove 10 having a V-shaped section is provided in the lengthwise direction at the center of an upper face is cut along dotted lines 12-14, and divided substrates 15-17 are transposed and gathered again on the same plane. The error of groove depth is very slight because grooves 10 of divided substrates are originally one V groove, and axes of optical fibers are aligned with a high precision because an angle theta which is formed by a main path and a branch path, when optical fibers 1-3 are placed on grooves, forms the same angle as angles theta of inclination of cut lines 12-14.
