PURPOSE:To obviate a propagation delay of a pipeline control signal, and to relax various restrictions on the number of executing stages, the operating cycle time, etc., by concentrating a control of a pipeline to one part without executing it at every stage, and executing a hardware control. CONSTITUTION:In case 'wait' is generated from a stage 14 and 'wait' is not generated from stages 12, 13, if EMP2 is active and EMP3 is inactive, the stage 12 becomes 'empty', the stage 13 comes not to be 'empty', and a pipeline concentration control circuit 20 instructs 'stop' to the stage 13. As a result, in the next cycle, a data of a stage 11 moves to the stage 12 of the next stage. Also, even in case the EMP2 and the EMP3 are active, the data of the stage 11 moves to the stage 12 of the next stage, in the next cycle. In case the EMP2 is inactive and the EMP3 is active, a device is in a state that the data can be delivered to the stage 13 in the next cycle, and in the next cycle, the data of the stages 11, 12 move to the stages 12, 13 of the next stages, respectively.
