PURPOSE:To improve sharpness and fastness of a picture image and to save consumption of silver by incorporating a specified compd. into a silver halide photographic sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:A compd. expressed by the formula I is incorporated into a silver halide photographic sensitive material. In the formula I, A is a residue expressed by the formula II, wherein L1 is -SO2L10 or -C(L11)3; L10 is (un) substituted aliphatic, arom., or heterocyclic group, or amino group; L11 is halogen atom; at least one of L2 and L3 is an electron attractive group; L4-9 (and L2 and L3 when they do not expressed electron attractive group) may be H, halogen, aliphatic group, acyl group, alkoxy carbonyl group, aryloxy carbonyl group, or alkoxy group, etc., independently of each other; L3 and L4, L8 and L9, and L5 and L6 can bond to each other forming a 5- - 7-membered ring; Time is a timing group; n is an integer; Cp is a coupler residue capable of bonding to -(Time)n- at the coupling position; further -(Time)n- may form a trivalent group and may acquire further bonding to a noncoupling position of Cp or PUG; X is -O-, -S-, or a group expressed by the formula III; L12 is H, aliphatic, or arom. group, etc. |
