PURPOSE:To perform a stable recording/reproduction by providing a hole for the loading of a magnetic head opening at the intermediate part of the outer peripheral plane of an upper part rotary cylinder in an upward/downward direction, at the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Since a magnetic head loading hole 12 is opened at the intermedi ate part of an upper part rotary cylinder 11 in the upward/downward direction, the guide plane S of a magnetic tape 17 is formed between the lower end plane of the cylinder 11 as shown in hatching in figure. So that the guide plane S is a smooth plane, a complicated deflection is not given on the magnetic tape 17 when the magnetic tape 17 crosses spirally on a magnetic head 13. Therefore, a stable contacting state between the magnetic head 13 and the magnetic tape 17 can be obtained. At such a time, since the magnetic tape 17 passes over the hole 12 and a gap (g), and the hole 12 is closed to the outer peripheral plane of the upper part rotary cylinder 11, no fine point part to damage the magnetic tape 17 is formed at the periphery.
