Production of a polyamide/polyvinyl chloride blended synthetic fabric for the manufacture of protective smocks from which photographic developer stains can be removed by washing with water and soap. The construction of the fabric must be performed so that the polyvinyl chloride yarns cover the polyamide yarns as much as possible, for example: a 44.7 x 31.2 serge, yarn no. warp 46 dtex, weft 26.2 dtex. This fabric according to the invention is particularly intended for the manufacture of smocks for dental surgeons and radiographers, their dental assistants and for the laboratory personnel working in a photographic laboratory.
