PURPOSE:To obtain a leather-wrapped steering wheel on which the contacting position of both the end edges of a leather cylinder can surely be positioned to the inner side of the steering wheel by a method wherein the predetermined portion of the core metal of a wheel ring is covered with the leather cylinder and then arranged in molding dies so as to insert-mold the wheel ring by pouring synthetic resin in the cylinder after both the molding dies are clamped. CONSTITUTION:A leather cylinder 1 is formed by covering a core metal 1 with a sheet-like leather in such a manner as to form a gap in which synthetic resin 3 is to be poured between the core metal 2 and the leather by joining the respective end edges of the leather and then arranged in a pair of molding dies 5 and 6. In the state that a joining portion, at which both the end edges 1a and 1a of the cylinder 1 are joined with each other, is controlled by positioning members 4,..., 4 arranged in the molding dies 5 and 6 so as to be positioned to the inner side of a steering wheel, a pair of the molding dies 5 and 6 are registered to each other and then synthetic resin 3 is poured in the cylinder 1 so as to insert-mold the core metal in order to manufacture a leather-wrapped steering wheel with the joining portion positioned to the inner side of the steering wheel or to the inner peripheral surface side, to which spokes are fixed, of a wheel ring 11. |
