PURPOSE:To make it possible to stably realize sharp printing on various papers different in thickness, by providing a guide mechanism for keeping the interval between a dot printing head and the surface of paper, and a platen or platen roller movable in compliance with the thickness of the paper. CONSTITUTION:Guide rollers 9, 10 are fixed in the vicinity of both sides of a printing head 8 in a state contacted with the feed surface of a slip and the printing head 8 is fixed so that the leading end thereof is separated by the proper gap quantity of a dot printer with respect to the tangential lines of the guide rollers 9, 10. Guide rollers 11, 12 and a platen roller 13 are integrated so that the outer periphery of the platen roller 13 is contacted with the guide rollers 11, 12 from a tangential direction and pressed to the side of the printing head 8 under predetermined pressure by a spring 16. The thick slip 17 fed by a belt is held between the guide rollers 9, 11 and the whole of the guide roller 11 and the platen roller mechanism is preliminarily moved by the thickness of the slip to perform printing by the dot printer. The gap between the printing head and the slip is always kept constant to ensure good printing.
