Hand vacuum cleaner with a housing, a suction connecting piece, for attachment of a suction head or alternatively a suction hose, and a guiding handle which is fastened to the housing, so as to be adjustable and lockable in the two end positions, in the region of the housing end face located opposite the suction connecting piece, the guiding handle being constructed as a shaft which is articulated in the housing so as to be pivotable at 180@ and is of greater length than the housing.
