PURPOSE:The titled resin composition capable of forming a molding excellent in mechanical strength (especially, tensile strength and bending strength) and low in coloration, comprising an unsaturated silane compound, a hydroxyl group- containing organic compound, and a radical generator. CONSTITUTION:A reinforced resin composition comprising (A) 50-99pts.wt. polyolefin (e.g., crystlline polypropylene), (B) 1-50pts.wt. glass fiber (e.g. glass chopped strand of a length of about 3-6mm.), (C) 0.1-5wt%, based on the glass fiber, unsaturated silane compound (e.g., vinyltrimethoxysilane), (D) 0.01-5wt%, based on the glass fiber, hydroxyl group-containing organic compound (e.g., ethylene glycol), and (E) 0.005-0.5wt%, based on the polyolefin, radical generator (e.g., benzoyl peroxide). In a desirable process for producing the above composition, components A, C, D, and E are reacted by melt blending and, after adding component B, the resulting mixture is melt-blended. |
