PURPOSE:To eliminate the collision noise, in a valve lift varying device where the shaft of a rocker arm is arranged eccentrically and the open/close timing of the valve is controlled in accordance with the operating condition of an engine, by providing a spring for pressing a slipper to a cam side and a member for pressing the valve contact section of a screw adjuster to the valve side. CONSTITUTION:A shaft 4 is arranged eccentrically against a bearing 4a in the bearing 4a of a rocker arm 1 and the open/close timing of a valve is varied by rotating the shaft 4. A spring 12 is provided to an arm at the side of a slipper 2 contacting with a cam 11 arranged at one end of the rocker arm such that the slipper 2 contacts continuously with the cam 11. The valve contact section 3 for pressing a valve 17 arranged at the other end of the rocker arm 1 is provided with an adjust screw at the upper portion and a spring for contacting the valve contact section 3 continuously with the valve 17 is provided between the adjust screw and the valve contact section 3.
