<p>PURPOSE:To enable the cooling of a cutter with air and extend the service life of the cutter by introducing generated chips to a suction pipe with a casing formed on the escape groove of a milling tool for reducing the opening thereof toward the outside. CONSTITUTION:In a milling tool 3 with a plurality of concentric cutters 1 arranged at intervals of equal angles and escape grooves 2 for chips close to the cutters 1, a non-rotary body 6 is provided, touching the outside periphery of the spindle part 4 of the tool 3 and forming a cavity 5 in the inside thereof. The cavity 5 is connected to a suction pipe 7 at one end and the other end is continuous to the escape grooves 2 of the cutters 3. And a casing 8 is provided on the escape grooves 2 for reducing the opening thereof toward the outside. Consequently, when machining is made with a milling machine, chips are sucked into the suction pipe 7 from the escape grooves 2 via the cavity 5 and suction pipe 7 is led to a vacuum cleaner, thereby guiding chips to a predetermined place.</p> |
