Safety device in a liquid pipeline

A safety device in a liquid pipeline for supply systems, preferably for water supply systems of residential houses, industrial and administration buildings and other buildings or the like, is described. In order to limit damage caused by unintentional discharge of a liquid from a pipeline and such systems, a flow monitor arranged downstream of an automatically operable shut-off member and having a time lag relay is arranged in the liquid pipeline in the area of its main connection. The time lag relay is connected to an electric or electronic control unit which is connected to the automatically operable shut-off member. On the other hand, it is even more advantageous for a volumetric flow meter arranged downstream of an automatically operable shut-off member to be arranged in the liquid pipeline in the area of its main connection. The flow meter has an electric contact maker freely related to the flow volume and an electric or electronic control unit which is connected to the automatically operable shut-off member.
