PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent the generation of a white stripe, in the thermal head of a printer, by dividing each of the heat generating resistors positioned at both ends of each divided section having a plurality of heat generating resistors by a slit. CONSTITUTION:A large number of heat generating resistors 2 linearily arranged on an insulating substrate are divided into a number of sections B1-Bn and powers are applied to a plurality of the heat generating resistors 2 provided to each of the sections B1-Bn by driving IC elements 5a-5n so as to successively shift a time to selectively generate heat. Each of the heat generating resistors 2 positioned at both ends of each of the sections B1-Bn is divided into two by a slit S and an outside heat generating area H is effectively prevented from being pulled to the inside direction of each section to be offset. By this method, printing can be performed without color irregularity by a small capacity power source and the generated heat temp. of the adjacent part of each section is made high to make it possible to prevent the generation of a white stripe on thermal recording paper. |
