Compsn. comprises a homogeneous dispersion of finely- divided calcium oxide and molasses. Pref. the molasses is 20-90 (25-75)wt.% and the calcium oxide 1-20 (2-16, particularly 2.5-8) wt.% of the complete compsn. The wt. ratio of calcium oxide to molasses is pref. 1 to 2-20, esp. 1 to 4-10. The compsn. may contain other additives (pref. 30-70 wt.% of the compsn.) such as foods, medicaments, growth promoters, vitamins, minerals and their mixtures. Animal feed which is resistant to weather, to which animals may be given free access (excess consumption is avoided by the hardness and alkalinity of the product) and which is easy and economic to produce. The feed may also be used as a carrier for medicaments. The feed is suitable for pigs, goats, sheep, horses, cattle and poultry (chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese). |
