PURPOSE:To obtain the product of expanded form strong in fusion bonding by a method wherein expandable particles are deaerated while keeping a pressurizing gas pressure in a cavity, thereafter, the expandable particles are expanded by returning the pressure to an atmospheric pressure and, then, the expanded particles are bonded by fusion with each other. CONSTITUTION:Compressed air is forced into steam chambers 16, 16' to pressurize the inside of a mold to a pressure P1. Expandable particles are transferred into a chamber 4 by a vacuum force and are loaded into the cavity 21 of a mold by a loading gun 15 while being compressed by a pressurizing gas pressure P2 (P2>P1). When steam is introduced into the chamber 16 of a moving mold 12, air existing in the clearances between the expandable particles loaded in the cavity 21, is discharged to the ouside of the mold by the steam through steam holes 20. After finishing deaeration, pressures in the chambers 16, 16' and the cavity 21 are returned to an atmospheric pressure and the compressed expandable particles are restored to expand them. Thereafter, steam is supplied into the chambers 16, 16' to heat the particles, then, the expanded particles are bonded with each other by fusion and the product of molded and expanded form can be obtained. |
