PURPOSE:To obtain information related to a graphic form without carrying out a hard copying action by converting a designated point on a displayed image into an address corresponding to an original image and displaying the result obtained by performing prescribed calculation based on the conversion data on a display device. CONSTITUTION:When an image processor is started, a display screen of a CRT 17 is show. Then a user magnifies the image near the 1st point so that the 1st point is inputted accurately by means of a pointing device 5. Then the user outputs information on the desired 1st point to a microprocessor 1 by setting a cross cursor at the 1st point with use of the device 5. The processor 1 converts the coordinates of a point n a display screen into the coordinates set on a picture memory 9 by means of the prescribed input signal of the device 5. Then the processor 1 counts the number of picture elements corresponding to the converted coordinates for calculation of the distance between two points, the included angles among three points, etc. of an original image. The results of these calculations are displayed on a CRT 17 or another display device.
