发明名称 METHOD AND INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING CONCENTRATION OF GASEOUS METHANOL
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To safely measure the concn. of gaseous methanol in real time by transmitting light to a measuring point via an optical fiber and detecting the intrinsic wavelength absorbed by the gaseous methanol at said point. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light source 1 is transmitted via an optical element 2 such as lens and the optical fiber 3 to a gaseous methanol cell 4 where the absorption arises at the intrinsic wavelength of the gaseous methanol and the intensity of the light decreased. The light is then transmitted via the optical fiber 5 to a spectroscope 6, by which the wavelength selection of the transmitted light is executed. The output light from the spectroscope 6 is conducted to a detector 7 and is converted to the electric current corresponding to the intensity of the light; thereafter, the current is inputted via an amplifier 8 to an arithmetic processor 9. The data on the measured concn. of the gaseous methanol component and the change thereof with time are calculated and the result of the calculation is displayed 10. The measurement in real time is thus possible even in the case in which the many measuring points are distant from each other as in the case of measuring the air pollution. Since the optical fiber does not leak the transmitted light to the outside, the instrument is entirely safe to the human body, etc.</p>
