The present invention relates to a pulsator device for milking dairy animals designed to give alternating suction on the animal's teats during milking. This device is characterised in that the two outer half-chambers (14) of the operating means of the main slide valve (5) are connected by a transparent tubular member (9) mounted in position and enclosing within it a moving member such as a piston (10), in such a way that the movement of the slide valve and the resulting movement of air from one to the other of the two half-chambers (14) of the one slide valve is made clearly visible by the movement of this piston (10), which also carries a calibrated orifice whereby the flow of displaced air may be adjusted. <IMAGE>
