PURPOSE:To produce a thermal recording material not having any protective layer but having high color forming sensitivity and excellent preservability, by incorporating a color former comprising a fluoran derivative of a specified formula and a color developer comprising a bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone compound of a specified formula. CONSTITUTION:This thermal recording material comprises a color former comprising a fluoran derivative of formula (I), wherein R1 is methyl or ethyl, and a color developer comprising a bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)sulfone compound of formula (II), wherein each of R2, R3, R4 and R5 is a 1-5C alkyl. The color developer is used in an amount of 1-8pts.wt., preferably, 3-6pts.wt., per 1pt.wt. of the fluoran derivative. The thermal recording material comprises a base and a thermal color forming layer provided thereon, and the color forming layer comprises the fluoran coloring matter, the color developer, a binder and the like. |
