The linear drive has two motors at the outer ends of two parts of a casing. The two parts constructed like a telescope may slide one inside the ther without rotating. The first motor drives a nut via a drive tube. The second motor drives a threaded spindle. The advantage lies in smallness, simplicity and cheapness. The mechanical parts are situated inside a colsed casing and protected from contamination. Coupling members, such as gearwheels and screws, are avoided to prevent play and delay.
