PURPOSE:To accurately measure the height of a reference plane instrument from a liquid level by measuring the height of the reference plane instrument by using a differential pressure gauge in the pressure container, and knowing the specific gravity of liquid by a pressure gauge and a thermometer and correcting the measured liquid level height. CONSTITUTION:A reference-side connecting pipe 5 and a measurement-side connecting pipe 6 are fitted to the flank of the pressure container 1 through the reference plane instrument 3, and the differential pressure gauge 4 is connected to their tips. Further, the thermometer 7 is fitted nearby the connecting pipe 6 and the pressure gauge 8 is fitted to the upper part; and a converter 9 is attached to the differential pressure gauge 4 and the thermometer 7 and pressure gauge 8 are connected by wiring. Then, the variation rate of the temperature or pressure of the liquid in the pressure container and the specific gravity of the liquid is programmed in the converter 9 and outputted to the differential pressure gauge 4 while following up the temperature or pressure, so that the liquid level height H is measured accurately regardless of the temperature or pressure variation.
