This headrest is of the type which comprises a support element 6 supporting the head of the user and two spindles 4. The spindles are fixed to the seat in a removable fashion and the support element 6 slides on the spindles. This element is equipped with stop devices 19 which interact with notches 18 in the spindles so as to fix the support element in several different positions along these spindles. The stop devices 19 are controlled by push-rods 24 carried laterally by the support element. <IMAGE>
