PURPOSE:To attain on-hook dialing at the use of a telephone set provided with a conventional talking function only by inserting a hook switch set by a transmitter or a receiver of a telephone set, opened at the set and closed at reset to a main wire. CONSTITUTION:A telephone set 11 is provided with a handset 14 and built in with a hook switch closed in response to the operating state of the handset 14 and a dial circuit and a talking circuit are connected to a telephone line 16 via a main wire of an adaptor 12 under the closing state of the hook switch. One end of the main wire 15 is used as a connection 15A for the connection with the telephone line 16 in the adaptor 12 and the other end of the main wire 15 is used as a connection 15B for the connection with the telephone set 11. In this case, a hook switch 101 of the adaptor 12 opened when the handset 14 of the telephone set 11 is set and closed when not set is inserted to the main wire 15.
