PURPOSE:To improve dimensional accuracy and efficiency of work by making cores face each other and bonding two core blocks by filling non-magnetic material in the gap and grooves of two core blocks. CONSTITUTION:A groove 25 is formed to form a gap forming face 29 for reading and writing in a core block 21 consisting of nearly I-shaped cores 16, 18 and nearly C-shaped cores 15, 17, and at the same time, a groove 27 is formed to form a gap forming face 31 for erasing in another core block 22. Then, the two core blocks 21, 22 are made to face each other at a specified space and positioned, and under this condition, two core blocks are bonded by filling non-magnetic material 33 in the grooves 25, 27 and the space simultaneously. The position of grooves can be confirmed by providing the grooves 25, 27 horizontally on the upper faces of core blocks 21, 22. Thus, a magnetic head suitable for mass production, capable of high density recording and of high accuracy can be obtained.
