PHENYLPROPANOLAMINES, THEIR PREPARATION AND THEIR USE

Phenylpropanolamines of the formula I < IMG > I where R1 is hydrogen or halogen, R2 is hydrogen, a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon radical of not more than 15 carbon atoms or phenyl, R3 is hydrogen, a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon radical of not more than 3 carbon atoms, C1-C4-acyl, benzoyl, C2-C4-carbalkoxy or a carboxamido group -CO-NHR6, where R6 is C1-C4-alkyl, R4 is hydrogen or halogen, R5 is dimethylamino, piperidino or pyrrolidino and X is oxygen or sulfur, their salts with physiologically tolerated acids and their preparation are described. These compounds are useful for treating psychological illnesses, especially depression.
