PURPOSE:To improve output in all operation ranges of an engine, by providing auxiliary exhaust ports and expansion chambers, mounting valves which open and close them to a main exhaust passage, and closing the valves corresponding to the operation conditions of the engine. CONSTITUTION:Auxiliary exhaust ports 6 and expansion chambers 8 are respectively formed on the right and left sides of a main exhaust passage 1. And the outlet ends of the auxiliary exhaust ports 6 on the side of the main exhaust passage 1 are faced with the inlet portions of the expansion chambers 8, and are provided with columnar closing valves 10 rotatably. Then, the closing valves 10 are provided with driving pinions 14 coaxially, and the driving pinions 14 are engaged with a driving rack 15, so that the axial movement of the driving rack 15 rotates the right and left closing valves 10 simultaneously in opposite directions. In this case, the expansion chambers 8 are opened and the auxiliary exhaust ports 6 are closed on the low speed revolutions of an engine, and the auxiliary exhaust ports 6 are fully opened after the expansion chambers 8 are closed on the middle speed revolutions and before the high speed revolutions.
