PURPOSE:To obtain a weld zone having the excellent resistance to selective corrosion in the service environment of sea water and fresh water by decreasing the content of S in a core wire and a coating material and specifying the content of >=1 kind among Cu, Ni, Ti, Cr and Mo. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. of a core wire is limited to <0.005% S and is composed to contain >=1 kind among 0.06-0.6% Cu, 0.06-0.55% Ni, 0.12-1.2% Cr and 0.06-0.6% Mo. The compsn. of a coating material is limited to <0.005% S and is composed to contain >=1 kind among 0.5-10% TiO2, 0.15-1.5% Cu, 0.15-1.5% Ni, 0.3-3.0% Cr and 0.2-1.2% Mo. Cu, Ni, Cr and Mo are incorporated into at least one of the core wire and the coating material.
