<p>A twist is imparted to fiber slubbing exiting from drawing rollers by means of twister. Oriented, parallelized fibers are applied to rotating fiber slubbing in front of or within twister, said fibers wrapping themselves around core thread. Because of these fibers, the twist of fiber slubbing no longer unravels completely after twister, so that a spun thread of great strength is obtained. The feed of fibers to fiber slubbing occurs by means of rotating feed element. It has a circular perforated surface, behind which a negative pressure is maintained to keep fibers on the surface. The oriented, parallelized fibers exit from drawing rollers and are conveyed to perforated surface. The rotating fiber slubbing comes into contact with surface and then draws fibers from surface. So that fibers remain oriented and drawn during transfer, the speed of movement of perforated surface is greater than the rate of feed of drawing rollers and less than the circumferential speed of fiber slubbing.</p> |
