PURPOSE:To prevent aluminum from corroding by coating the surface of a semiconductor element with an ion collector and then sealing it with resin. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a semiconductor element is coated with ion scavenger, and then sealed with resin. The scavenger attracts by chemical reaction halogen anion such as C<->, Br<-> of ionic impurity, alkali metal cation such as HCOO<->, CH3COO<->, organic acid anion Na<+>, K<+>, alkali earth metal cation such as Ca<2+>, Mg<2+>, and fixes it thereon so that the ionic impurity does not arrive at the surface of the aluminum. The coating amount may be to form a film of a thickness of 0.1mum or thicker on the element. Thus, the moisture resistance of a semiconductor device can be improved.
