PURPOSE:To simplify a switching mechanism for the normal and reverse directions of flow by forming annular-groove-shaped guiding flow passages in which the depth in the axial direction becomes gradually deeper towards the discharge side from the suction side in the direction of flow on the suction and discharge sides of a vane wheel. CONSTITUTION:A suction side guiding flow passage 17 and a discharge side guiding flow passage 18 are formed at the suction port 14 and discharge port 15 of an axial flow type vane wheel 11, respectively. Each of the guiding flow passages 17 and 18 is formed gradually shallower on the suction side, and gradually deeper on the discharge side, and varied nearly over the whole periphery. Therefore, the fluid on the suction and discharge sides can be provided with the turning movement around the revolution center axis of a pump nearly over the whole periphery, and a switching mechanism for the normal and reverse directions of flow can be made simple.
