PURPOSE:To prevent the futile outflows of a fresh gas and the back currents of an intake gas in all revolution ranges of an engine, by providing timing valves for gas passages (intake and exhaust passages) wherein the valves are opened for a certain time corresponding to the characteristic frequency of the pressure pulses of a gas. CONSTITUTION:The first and second timing valves 21, 22 are provided in the intake and exhaust passages 17, 18 of a two cycle engine 11, and the first and second agitators 23, 24 comprising voice motors are disposed on the opposite sides of intake and exhaust ports IN, EX from the respective valves 21, 22. The respective agitators 23, 24 are driven by a driving unit 27 corresponding to the output signals of a crank angle sensor 28 on the open time of the intake and exhaust ports. And both the timing valves 21, 22 are linked with each other via a valve controller including a gear train, and the open time of the intake and exhaust passages 17, 18 is controlled for a certain time corresponding to the characteristic frequency of these passages 17, 18 regardless of the change of the revolutional number of the engine.
