PURPOSE:To grasp the state of an equipment to be controlled at any time not only at control by utilizing a telephone line so as to supervise and control the equipment to be controlled. CONSTITUTION:A telephone set 1 is connected to an exchange of a telephone station 2, another telephone set 2 is connected to the exchange of the station 2 via a switch 4 and a remote controller 10 is connected to the switch 4. At the time of the remote controller 10 receives a DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency) signal via a telephone line, a signal conversion means A converts the signal into a digital signal and gives the result to a control means B and a voice synthesis means D. If the converted digital signal corresponds to a control signal, the control means B controls an equipment 20 to be controlled. On the other hand, the state of the equipment 20 is supervised always by a supervisory means C, and if the output of the signal conversion means A corresponds to a state confirmation request, the voice synthesis means D converts the supervisory signal into a voice signal and gives the signal to a telephone line.
