PURPOSE:To improve the end face shape of a rolling material by integrally and axially moving work rolls and two pieces of supporting intermediate rolls according to the sheet width and pressing the edger rolls in the central part of the journal boxes of the intermediate rolls to the end face of the rolled down sheet material. CONSTITUTION:A lower chockless work roll 2 supported by the two intermediate rolls 7, 8 is held by a thrust receiving roll 14 which is supported in the middle of a common journal box 4 for the intermediate rolls and is pressed axially by a pressing direction 20 and the edger roll 12 which is supported in the axial perpendicular direction in the middle of the common journal box 4' and is positionally adjusted by a roll position adjusting device 19. The upper chockless work roll 1 is held by the similar mechanism. The sheet material 18 between the work rolls 1 and 2 adjusted to the prescribed sheet width by a shaft device is pressed at both end faces by the edger rolls 11, 12, by which the end face shape and width accuracy of the sheet material 18 are improved.
