PURPOSE:To attain transfer of a desired document to one's own place by retrieving the desired document out of a file device of a LAN(local area network) through a facsimile composite terminal and receiving the retrieved document by a terminal facsimile equipment. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile terminal equipment switches a terminal 17 to turn it on by controlling a switch 15 through the terminal 17 via a switch control line 20. Then a call originated from the terminal 17 is connected to a facsimile communication station via a MODEM 16, the switch 15, a telephone network 14, a network controller 12 and a MODEM 10 respectively. Thus a physical link is set. Then the terminal 17 delivers a connection request to a file station via a BSC(binary synchronous communication. Thus a desired document is retrieved and sent to the terminal facsimile equipment.
