Apparatus for making an oil-in-water emulsion for use as a hydraulic pressure fluid comprises a gear motor. 10 driven by the flow of mixture and driving through (preferably steplessly variable) gearing a smaller gear pump 8 which pumps the oil through a non-return valve 6 into a pressure-water supply 2 upstream of the gear motor 10, by passage through which the mixture is emulsified. The apparatus will operate only when a user makes a flow possible in the conduit 2, 3 by opening a discharge valve, and the mixture ratio may be altered by varying the gear ratio.</p> |
