PURPOSE:To stop a rotating cylindrical work in a predetermined attitude by arranging a pawl pushed up by a rod provided with a spring, at the end of a rolling chute, and engaging said pawl with the part formed in a special shape on the outer periphery of said work. CONSTITUTION:A work 1 has column parts 1a at both ends, its intermediate part has larger diameter than that of the column part 1a, and is in a hollow cylindrical shape with an underfill part 1c formed on its outer periphery. Both ends of the column part 1a of the work 1 are rotated while being supported on a conveyer frames 2a on both sides supported slantingly by a table. The outer surface of he intermediate part abuts against a pawl 4 before both end parts 1a are made in contact with a stopper 3, and then the pawl 3 pushes back a rod 7 elastically supported by a spring 6 and turns to have the end parts abutted against the stopper 3. As the work 1 continues to rotate by inertia, it stops to rotate at the time once the underfill part 1c engages with the pawl 4. Consequently, the stop position of the underfill part 1c is in a fixed direction. Thus, holding of the workpiece by a robot hand or the like is ensured.
