PURPOSE:To improve lubricating performance by forming an oil sumping groove portion pointing in the substantial peripheral direction on a load applying end surface of an oil impregnated bearing in a device where thrust applied to a rotary shaft inserted in the oil impregnated bearing to be supported is born by the end surface of the oil impregnated bearing. CONSTITUTION:In case of applying the titled device to a vertical shaft type motor, a taper cylindrical bearing support portion 13 is formed at the central part of the end surface of a motor frame 11, and an oil impregnated bearing 14 is supported on the above portion 11. The bearing 14 is supported in a stepped cylindrical oil pan case 16 through a felt oil core 15. On the other hand, an annular collar 20 as a load applying portion is fitted to a rotary shaft 19 of a rotor 18, and the collar 20 is supported on the end surface of the oil impregnated bearing 14 through a thrust washer 21. In this case, a plurality of oil sumping groove portions 22 pointing in the substantial peripheral direction are concentrically formed on the end surface of the oil impregnated bearing 14 on the washer 21 side, thereby exerting sufficient lubricating effect to the washer 21.
